The Stewart Family: 10/09/11
The holidays are quickly approaching, and that can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Everyone tends to have a huge list of tasks to accomplish before they hit, and at times, one of those things to get done is taking family photos. The weather has cooled down, and the leaves are starting to change just a bit so the time is right to get them done. On Sunday, October 9th, I was fortunate enough to do the family portraits for the Stewart family in Tuscaloosa.
We decided on shooting on the grounds of the University of Alabama and used locations by Denny Chimes, the President’s Mansion, Wood’s Quad, and the Promenade. Even though it was the Sunday after Homecoming, most of the areas were clear of people so we didn’t have any interference. The Stewart family shoot was the biggest family portrait session I have done since it involved three children, ages 2-12, plus the parents. Luckily, all three kids were incredibly easy to work with for the shoot. I can’t stress enough how easy that makes a shoot. For those who don’t know, my philosophy when photographing children is to let them be children. It makes a world of difference.
The Stewart family also took advantage of a special I am running through Halfoffdepot.com. I know some people try to tell photographers to avoid running offers on those sites, but I gave it a go. I’ll be running one on another site, Sharingspree.com, at the end of the week so it will be a great opportunity to pick up a portrait session at a very reasonable price. Something to think about with the holidays approaching. If you want to see some more photos from this shoot, you can check out the full gallery by visiting:
