Sh!t’s Crucial is Track 7 Release Party – 7/13/12
The best way I know to celebrate the 4 year anniversary of http://www.dsmithimages.com going online is to showcase new material, and today’s posting is just that. It’s also new material courtesy of a long time friend of DSmithImages and someone who I have photographed since the beginning. Ham Bagby, Tuscaloosa’s local musical giant, has been performing in area bars for years, but he just recently released his album “Sh!t’s Crucial is Track 7″, a collection of songs Ham has made famous locally. A release party was held on Friday, July 13th at Green Bar in Tuscaloosa, and I was on hand to take in the show and photograph it for all of you.
Ham had an assortment of musicians on hand to assist in playing the various tracks on the album. In front of a captive and raucous crowd, Ham and the band put on a fantastic and energetic performance that has turned out to be the typical result of a Ham Bagby show. When Ham played the title track on the album, the unofficial anthem of Tuscaloosa known as “Sh!t’s Crucial”, it brought back great memories of how he record the track live at Green Bar back in January. Many people in attendance for that recording were in attendance for the release party as well.
I invite you all to check out and purchase Ham’s new album by visiting http://hambagby.bandcamp.com/. After you purchase and download it, it would make great music to play as you check out the rest of the photos from the evening, which can be seen by visiting http://www.dsmithimages.com/site/music/ham-bagby-7-13-12/1/
