The Faces of a Season: Alabama vs. Ole Miss
The University of Alabama Crimson Tide had their latest start time of the year on September 29th as they hosted and kicked off with Ole Miss at 8:15 P.M. In regards to the “Faces of a Season” project, one would probably assume I would have been able to get a lot of content, more so than the previous two entries. Unfortunately, I had to cut the day short due to work commitments the next day. Don’t fret, though. I didn’t even make it to the Quad on Saturday, which is a first for me on a home football game day. I still did what I could to bring to you a perspective of those Alabama fans in town to see the Crimson Tide battle the Rebels from Oxford.
It was obvious to anyone around Tuscaloosa on Saturday that people were excited about the first home game of the season, but weary about having to last until 8:15 P.M. for kick-off. As the saying went on Saturday, “It was a marathon, not a sprint.” Some people eased into the mood and atmosphere of the day slowly, and were able to function throughout the afternoon. Others, I’m guessing, probably started struggling around 4:30 or so, which is around the time I had to call it a day.
This entry into the “Faces of a Season” project, unfortunately, will be the last until the end of October when Alabama hosts Mississippi State. I look forward to revisiting it at that time to see how things have progressed with the season and to continue to bring you a representation of the faces that inhabit Tuscaloosa on the day Alabama is set to take the field at Bryant-Denny.
